The COVID-19 virus has seemed to stop all normalcy for the last year.  SERVPRO immediately began to verify CDC requirements for cleaning procedures and what SERVPRO brand chemicals we could use.

SERVPRO has cleaning products that are CDC approved to clean surfaces.  Our certified team was able to help get businesses open or stay open during this pandemic.

As SERVPRO is still helping with keeping up with COVID-19 cleanings we are also a Fire and Water Restoration company that has been busy from the Polar Vortex that came through February 2021.

The temperature in many states including Oklahoma and Texas were below freezing for more than 10 days.  As pipes began to unfreeze many businesses and homeowners saw pipes breaking and causing an abundance of water damages everywhere.

SERVPRO of Bartlesville/Miami are still getting calls from the cold temperatures in February. Please call the professionals for any emergency.

Snow in Front Yard Almost a foot of snow in SERVPRO owners front yard

Let it Snow and did it ever in Oklahoma.  Most of the Midwest had been enjoying milder temperatures during the winter until mid February 2021.  Valentines day was below freezing and the temperatures stayed there for more than 10 days.

The cold temperatures allowed for pipes to freeze all over Oklahoma causing homeowners and businesses without water or electricity in below freezing temperatures outside.  Temperatures began to warm up and so did the pipes causing major water damages throughout Oklahoma.

Oklahoma is not use to having multiple freeze day's and the amount of snow that was falling.

SERVPRO of Bartlesville/Miami was ready to help and has not stopped.

Please Call our office for your next Water Damage.

Emergency Readiness Profile

Independence Community College Logo Independence Community College has a logo which is a pirate.

One of our customers, a Junior College, was in a documentary on NETFLIX for 2 years. The college is Independence Community College in Independence, KS.

Just 45 minutes away from SERVPRO of Bartlesville/Miami, they took advantage of an ERP which is a no cost program  that provides a concise Profile Document that contains only the critical information needed in the event of an emergency.

This Emergency Readiness Profile was created with the help of staff at ICC who took pictures of all seven of their buildings.  It gave the facility details such as shut-off valve locations, priority areas and priority contact information.

We at SERVPRO of Bartlesville/Miami wish the ICC Pirates a great season and will continue to support the school in any way that we can.

How to Prevent Mold Growth

8/4/2020 (Permalink)

We breathe in mold spores and fragments every day, indoors and outdoors.  Usually these exposures do not present a health risk. However, people can be exposed to large amounts of mold, particularly indoors.

It is impossible to get rid of all mold spores indoors; some spores will be found floating through the air and in house dust.  However we can reduce the amount of spores in our homes by controlling mold growth.

  • Identify moisture problem areas in your home and correct  them
  • Dry wet areas immediately
  • Prevent moisture buildup with proper ventilation
  • Monitor humidity indoors
  • Direct rainwater away from your home
  • Clean and repair roof gutters

Remember if you clean up the mold but don't address the water or moisture problem, then most likely, the mold problem will come back.

SERVPRO of Bartlesville/Miami offers indoor air quality sampling for mold. Call us today for an appointment at 918-766-0220.

Document Restoration Services

8/4/2020 (Permalink)

Many of us have years of documents or memories stored in boxes.  When a fire happens they can get smoke or water damaged. SERVPRO is capable of saving these items with our: Document Restoration Services located in Gallatin, Tennessee.

The picture is of the Document Chamber they use for this process.

They have a unique way of drying items by freezing the documents and using a vacuum and pressures to achieve sublimation.

They are also capable of deodorizing from the smoke damage.

SERVPRO also can digitize the documents and certify the destruction of the paper copy.  This will allow you to have all your important documents on a digital file. You don't have to have a fire for this decision.  Imagine the time and space you will have.
